I hope somebody can help me with my problem

Hi,

I’ve been through the patch file from v127>v129, nothing major is changed, or anything that could prevent a bootup on C2.

Highly likely its a filesystem corruption, possibly due to unstable PSU.

  • Whats your PSU make/model and SDcard/EMMC make model?
  • Is there any output on HDMI after reboot?

Thank you for your quick replay.

My power supply unit is a QUATPOWER PSN5/2000H2.5, 5 V-/2 A, 2,5/0,8 mm
My SDcard model is a SANDISK MICROSDXC KARTE 64GB ANDROID
I dont have plugged the Odroid C2 in the television. Perhaps I can test it.
The blue LED doesnt blink blink after reboot.

PSU looks fine, but could be the cause.
Sandisk, I’ve only ever had one Sandisk Ultra fail on me, very stable so likely not the cause.

I dont have plugged the Odroid C2 in the television. Perhaps I can test it.
The blue LED doesnt blink blink after reboot.

Please do, take a picture and attach it if possible. Should give us much needed clues.

hi,

okay, now it works :slight_smile:

the problem is, that the odroid doesnt reboot after the installation, it is shuting down. After I have plug it out / plug it in, the odroid works fine.
This ist also, when I take the command “reboot”.

Hi,

Thanks for the update.

Very strange, so when you run reboot, it actually shuts down the system?

Curious:
Have you changed the system locale, and, what revision is your C2?

thanks for replay

yes, it is like “shutdown -h now”.

I have change the local to de_DE.UTF-8
My revision ist 0.2 20160226

Hi Math_K,

Curious, what happens if you try rebooting with:

shutdown -r 0

Hi Fourdee,

it is the same

root@c2:/home/user# shutdown -r 0
Shutdown scheduled for Mon 2016-09-12 22:00:45 CEST, use 'shutdown -c' to cancel.
root@c2:/home/user#

the C2 stop an doesnt reboot.

Hi,

Thanks for the results.

I’ve created a new C2 image with the latest kernel. If you have any spare time, please try this image and see if it resolves the reboot issue: https://dietpi.com/downloads/images/

Hi,

I have installed the latest version, but it takes no efffect.
Now it is installed the verison 130.

Thanks for the report Mathk. Very strange, not unless the locale is causing this. Have you tried running the reboot command before changing the locale to de_DE.UTF-8?
K-Plan, do you use this locale also?

Mathk, whats the revision code on the back of the C2. eg: v0.1 date?

No, sorry.
Now I have deinstall de_DE.UTF-8 an select en_GB-UTF-8. The reboot works. But when I twice reboot, it doesnt start.

What ist K-Plan?

Me ! :smiley:

Yes, but my C2 is running v122 with “old” PiHole version in productive operation. Never touch a good running system! :wink:
So it is difficult to test with it. But I will have a look and do my best.

Any wishes? On SD card or on eMMC ? Automated or manually install? With special software to install?

Tested:

Odroid C2 PCB Revision: rev0.2 20151218

image:

installed on eMMC: full automated, DHCP Ethernet, AUTO_Locale=de_DE

root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# cat /var/log/boottime
14.56 Seconds
root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# uname -a
Linux Odroid-C2-TEST 3.14.78+ #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Sep 11 13:16:51 CEST 2016 aarch64 GNU/Linux

work , auto-reboot after initial installation without problems

Have as well tried several times :

root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# reboot     ## reboot

root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# shutdown -r 0      ## reboot

root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# poweroff       ### shutdown/poweroff/halt

dietpi-software => installed some software => auto-reboot (without a problem)

dietpi-config => change device name => auto-reboot (without a problem)

hmm, why

/home/user

>

?

Have you add a user? Change something in user management or passwords? Done modding in .bashrc or startup scripts?

Can you please try:

```text
root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# sudo reboot
or
root@Odroid-C2-TEST:~# sudo su
                                :~# reboot
