Because for the love of all that is holy,
I’m apparently not smart enough to figure that out my self…
Not sure which setting is not clear but this is my translation if it helps.
SSID - this is what you see when you try to connect to your hotspot
Key - the password you would set and give out to people that want to join your hotspot.
Frequency - should be 2.4 or 5 depending on equipment logging in, most modern stuff uses 5 Ghz which is faster but 2.4 GHz is most universal.
Channel - go with default number or you can pick numbers to see what gets better signal, for 2.4GHz go with 1,6 or 11.
802.X - this is also related to the equipment logging in, I would turn on at least .Xn and .Xac.
Connectivity - the explanations and graphics on that setting are pretty good leave them all on except the manual configuration.
Country - obviously the country your hotspot is in
State - on or off
Apply - you need to activate that after you have made changes.
I am no expert but maybe that helps get you going.
I guess it’s not about understanding of options. More OP like to have added additional features which we don’t support ootb

Indeed I am.
With those three options 90% of the use cases for the hotspot should be covered.
Things like:
- Wifi guest access without exposing the network
- Wifi - LAN gateway minus the option for stuff to “phone home”
- Complete capsuled IoT network
Without the need to understand nftable?
Should be a absolut boon for user experience.
Have to say DietPi is awesome and I’m happy that I found it.
