Yes, I decided to do that last night already after being fed up of all the testing.
Many thanks.
The thing is that the HAT, on its own, works as far as I can tell. When I plug it into my Laptop running Fedora, and I plug in a usb flash drive in it, it gets automatically mounted by the OS and I can browse the contents from it.
No, it does not show in lsub
The pogo pins are making good contact (and with the right side of the Raspberry Pi Zero W ) , with the M2 screws tightly keeping the hat in place.
By the way, it is a v1.1 board (Actually I tested 2 Zeroes W that I have around, as depicted, with no difference) and -as far as I can see- have the relevant pads in the corrects locations for the pogo pins.
May I ask you what micro-usb port you do use to power them (the R.Pi, or the one in the hat?). Also, what Amperage is the PSU you use to power them with ? Many thanks.
So it happens that neither the 1A or 2 A USB mobile chargers I was using to power the R.PiZero + hat were delivering enough current.
After changing these by the official PSU from a Raspberry Pi 2 I had around (5V 2.5A) the hat was identified by lusb and the Ethernet port also recognised by the DietPi-Config util.
Many thanks to all for your help on the matter and suggestions given!!
