Have you seen the PINE 64?

@Fourdee,

I should have one of these in the next couple weeks. I was an early backer.

I think it will be fun to port dietpi to it when it comes in… :sunglasses:

I ordered mine a little late, so it won’t be arriving until May :frowning: We plan to add DietPi support for it, once I can get my hands on it

Also, have you seen the news on the new Odroid C2? 64bit 2ghz . Cant wait to get my hands on one!

I had NOT heard about the C2. the XU4 was my first jaunt into the Odroid scene… I got it specifically because of the USB3 ports. I’m rather disappointed that the C2 isn’t equipped with USB3… all that power and it’s crippled by the USB2 bottleneck… if you’re using it for large media file storage any how…

As for the PINE… I got in early (I want to say day 1, but I can’t remember for sure), so I’m getting the PINE64+ 2GB and was able to add the wifi/bt add-on module through backerkit for like $10. I got the earlybird package, so I should be in one of the first couple shipments.

I’ll be happy to taunt you with pics when it comes in… ROFL.

lmao. By all means, would be good to see it

I ordered a PINE64 to have as NAS and maybe plex media server if its powerful enought. I see they are getting debian jessie to work on the pine64 forums  hopefully it will be easy to get dietpi working on it also.

a few minutes ago.
Looking forward to use it with DietPi.

Greets, Michael

Well, if they ever ship mine to me, I’ll get started on an image… :ugeek:

waiting for mine to ship also.

I do have my two C.H.I.P.s though that are also nice little computers.

dietpi running on a RPi A+
connected to a minicom terminal UART to UART to the Pine A64+
with some serious voodoo magic to encourage it to run a netboot install of debian ARM64

Great stuff Rob. You are doing excellent work on your DietPi Pine64 implementation/image

I just got my Pine A64 in this weekend.
Looks like they are close to accelerated video drivers also.

Order: open
Payment: paid
Fulfillment: unfulfilled

I was late and i believe it will take several months more :frowning:

Actually their disbursement of pledges is a bit screwed up , I guess its becos of a third party handler. I was among the first few and I just got mine, and a friend who booked his on the last day got it about 2 weeks before me.

The same third party is handling C.H.I.P dispatch also. God save the king…

God save rhkean … for his DietPi for Pine A64 image!

Nice job Rob, congratulations.

I understand what happened… they got overwhelmed… There’s no way they could have anticipated the response they got on the kickstarter campaign. It’s all good.

Essentially, I think that they tried to keep all orders to a single shipment. Which means that if you added extra items from the backer kit, you automatically got pushed back in the queue, so they could ship the board-only orders while they waited for the backer-kit accessories to be made available. I don’t agree with the logic, but I understand the financial reasoning behind it.

At least I got mine soon enough to have a DietPi image ready for everyone else when they get theirs… :ugeek:

Mine was a single board order, but yes, I upgraded mine to 2Gb as they initially launched with just 512Mb. I still got it very late, later than a friend who booked a board on the last day of the campaign. Anyway happy with the product.

Yes they surely did not anticipate such a response and kudos to them they delivered what they promised.

But thanks to the Diet-Pi Team for their support for the hardware. I was really hoping for a support from this team and yes, I got one.

Can there be a possible support for the C.H.I.P hardware too… lol

All credit to Rhkean for making this possible.

Can there be a possible support for the C.H.I.P hardware too… lol

I so want one. I bet its not $9 after UK shipping and taxes :frowning:. Added to my wish list
