I have an old Lenovo Ideacentre Stick 300. Weird architecture, 64bit AMD but the BIOS requires a 32bit UEFI bootloader. I played around yesterday following the instructions here GitHub - rppicomidi/ideacentreStick300-T100TA-linux: How to set up Xubuntu 22.04 on a Lenovo ideacentre Stick 300 or Asus T100TA and managed to get a working 64 bit Ubuntu 22.04 installed.
I’m guessing that it would be an enormous amount of effort to try and build a 32bit boot loader for DietPi both to get the install to work and then to also replace the 64bit boot loader in the running system. But just in case anyone has played around in this area before I thought I’d ask for some tips on how to go about it, whether it is even sensible.
My idea is to repurpose the Ideacentre Stick as a Roon client and connect it to a USB DAC for my headphones. I already have a working system with Dietpi on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W but being headless I tend to switch it on and off via the power supply and I worry that the microSD will get corrupted (been there, done that, too often) so the solid state Ideacenter Stick might make a better music player. I can use Ubuntu but it seems overkill and Dietpi with fewer background tasks ought make a better player.
Thanks
Brian
