external drive for raspberry pi 4

I have the 4gb rpi 4 and i would like to get a 3 tb hard drive for it. But wich one should i look at.

There is lots of talk about usb 3 driver etc and some chipset in external drives doesn’t function so good.

So whould you recommend a internal drive in a external enclosure or just a wd/seagate external drive.

And how would you use windows software on a raspberry pi :thinking:

I have figured out what to buy. Cant see if there is a place to close down this thread.
