You don’t have a valid internet connection

thanks for the fast replies
im connected on ethernet though and it worked after when i retried could the “internet problems” be why im failing the installers?
also another error now (removed parts of the links because im being limited as a new user.)

As already said, your internet connection doesn’t seems to be stable/valid

its been going through the installer well after i reflashed other than the internet error at the start not sure why its happening on my wifi, anyways do you know whats causing this? i cant really navigate the pihole gui because its just typing im worried if i exit this itll mess things up again LOL

We have an older DietPi blog post about Pi-hole and Unbound.
Maybe this also give some guidance: Pi-Hole & Unbound: How to have ad-free & safer internet in just few minutes – DietPi Blog

@dietpi1238133 did you tried using TAB to select continue?

it was giving me the same error i got before so i reinstalled dietpi again and will try again ill post the error text here when i probably get it again

this is the error i was getting before “Could not update local repository. Contact support.” i have searched this issue up and cannot find anything to help the problem

Maybe something you would need to check with PiHole support. I’m not sure why the repository can’t be cloned

that little text thing appearing on pihole is happening again do u know what im supposed to do to select continue? also i have checked with pihole support and it seems like the devs arent really actively answering unlike here…

could u try replicating just installing it on a zero 2w and see if it works for you?

I feel like I have had this happen before, can you disable the IPv6 network settings in pihole or your dns , so it does not search for ipv6.

does it need ipv6? im also planning to use pivpn if that needs it?

no this has nothing to do with IPv6. Put this away, as it is not relevant.

As I don’t have a Zero W2, I did a test installation on my RPI5. All was working as expected, without any issue.

Still something seems to be with your device and/or network connection.

i ended up changing something with nameserver to 1.1.1.1 and it immedietly fixed my issue if anyone is wondering not sure what i actually changed if someone wants to say it here for anyone looking for the solution
