Dietpicam - changing Apache port for remote access

Hi all

I’ve managed to get Dietpicam running very successfully on my original RPi A model. I’ve transferred root files to a USB stick to avoid SD card corruption.

What I want to do next is to access the cam remotely. I can do this via the default port 80, but I want to change this as I have other plans for port 80 on another RPi. When I change Apache ports according to this:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=500460#p500460

then I lose the video feed. Is there something else I should be doing? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Huffpuffin,

Are you running the Wheezy or Jessie image of DietPi?
As the post is over 2 years old, it is very likely outdated. The RPi cam software has received many updates since then. So it’s possible additional changes are needed.

The DietPi installation of RPi web cam interface installs to /var/www/dietpicam. Where as the RPi web cam interface installs to /var/www. So it may be worth checking your changes include the additional path.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I’m running Jessie. I’ll look into it further when I have more time. I’ll let you know.

Keep up the good work!
