Dietpi with Chrome only Autostart

I tried to install XFCE or/and LXDE (not at the same time)
a) to make a RDP connection on my Dietpi
b) start Chromium and
c) cast the desktop to my TV

There are two problems

  1. using XFCE or LXDE I have no fonts (only black squares)
  2. using MATE works but I would prefer XFCE…
  3. after establishing the cast from my Laptop I swapt into the living room., plugged in the USB mouse dongle into the DietPi machine and hoped that I now could use the mouse… Bus Nada, njet, no no.

what must I do to activate the mouse on a headless system (from time to time)

To make a long story short - two questions → 1) how can I use XFCE and 2) the mouse
thanks
Karl

Did some duckduckgoing…found this
square fonts means missing fonts

Did you install xfce-goodies as well?

Check out nomachine…it’s a pretty decent remote-desktop application…but VNC should work just fine

i changed to LXQD and could solve my appereance problems… Not only theissue with the mouse is open. What must I do that my Dietpi machine (Intel based) recognizes an USB dongle to use wireless keyboard and mouse. Thanks Karl

Usually this should be done by Debian automatically. You can check dmesg if the USB device is recognised
