[DietPi] How can I connect an external hard drive to a Mac over the network?

Hello everyone!

I’d like to be able to network mount an external drive linked to my Raspberry Pi 4 (running DietPi) so that my Mac can access it. The end aim is to connect the Spotify desktop software on my Mac to the mounted disc and add local music files stored on it (I know there are a million methods to share music over a network, like using Plex and accessing it that way, but I’m just trying to see if I can do it this way). Thank you very much!

Edit: problem addressed - just enable Samba in DietPi-Software and change the config file to point to your external drive.

Hi,

yes SAMBA is a possible way to share folders between Linux and MacOS

SAMBA would probably be the easiest…this is also a way too
