Support for Wheezy in DietPi has now ended (22nd June 2016).
Ok, what do i use now?
If you are running the Wheezy image (run cat /etc/*release to check), please download the latest DietPi image from our main website http://dietpi.com/download. These images are currently based on Jessie.
Why are you dropping Wheezy?
- Wheezy is now classed as “Old Stable”. Jessie is classed as “Stable” and is the current distro.
- Wheezy is now no longer offered as a download by RaspberryPi foundation. Even they are phasing it out: https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/
- Out of 3100 unique installations of DietPi in under 1 month, only 90 of those were Wheezy.
- Additional code and valuable testing time is required to support Wheezy. This is mainly due to the differences with SystemD and the LSB sysinit of Wheezy.
But I want to be able to use Wheezy!:
I have uploaded a final Wheezy image that has its own Git branch.
Users can download the image here: DietPi_RPi-ARMv6-Wheezy.7z
Please note, Wheezy is no longer supported by DietPi, so you are on your own.
It’s based on Debian 7 “Wheezy” LTS and will get security fixes until 31st May 2018 by Debian.
Then we will take the link down.
If you have any questions, please post them here.
