There are two versions…one with the H3 and one with the H5 chips on them…what version do you have
There is an official Debian image you can try to convert to dietpi
Just scroll down to the bottom and look for official images debian

what image do you use as starting point?

These are Debian Buster images and I guess you selected Bookworm during install? Best to my knowledge, our installer doesn’t support Debian Buster anymore.
