DietPi Fedora Spin

Has there been any discussion on possibilities of doing DietPi with a Fedora base? I’m rather new to all of this and totally LOVE DietPi!! I run it for almost all of my VMs in Proxmox. Hands down THE best out of the box Linux distro for getting sh*t done quickly and easily.

The only reason I bring up Fedora is they do tend to run newer kernels than what ships with Debian.

I have learned my lession on buying bleeding edge hardware for Linux… Just don’t lol

Love to hear others thoughts and opinions.

Nope we dont have the capacity to move away from Debian

Just curious. As a total noob that understands nothing of the development cycle and massive about of time, labor and love for the project.

With that being said. Is it funing or just everyone having free time. Is dietpi all volunteers or is it a mix of paid and unpaid contributions?

Everyone involved in the project does it in their free time for the joy of the project. Nobody is paid. Everyone who contributes or participates does so in a private capacity. In addition, we currently have exactly one developer.

Are you the sole developer? If so please pm me :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m contributing in forum support and smaller bug fixes. Main development is done by @MichaIng

Awesome! Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

Btw, you could use a Debian Trixie image, which uses about the same kernel versions than Fedora.
