i have the problem that the update to 9.9 does not show when i ssh to my device…
I run a second Odroid C2 which i use to test new versions of dietpi, that one showed the new update, i ran it and anything is fine. But my main-device does NOT show up the update…
Any ideas how i could myke the trigger appear? or should i just run dietpi-update without the information given?
I have searched the existing open and closed issues

I have docker and portainer installed vis Dietpi-Software, i run pihole as dockercontainer.
Was the software title installed freshly or updated/migrated?

Can this issue be replicated on a fresh installation of DietPi?
I have another C2 which is uses to test new dietpi-versions, this one is updated and running fine.

Steps to reproduce
… The update to 9.9 does not show when i SSH into my device…
…
Expected behaviour
… “Run dietpi-update to update to 9.9 should appear”
I ran “dietpi-update”, the update now showed up.
After NOT installing the update , it showed up in the diet-banner-menue…
I still wander why the update did not show up before…
You can always execute dietpi-update. It makes no difference at all whether something is displayed in the banner or not. The banner display is purely cosmetic and has no effect. The update function will always search for a new version itself and offer it if available.
nope it’s not empty. Our script’s use /etc/cron.daily, /etc/cron.hourly/, /etc/cron.minutely/, /etc/cron.monthly/ and /etc/cron.weekly/. According dietpi-cron all seems to be fine. Maybe a temp issue whild downloading new release information. All good I would say.
Hi folks,
i think i can describe my “issue” more in detail now.
It seems that dietpi-banner hangs…
I still get a Christmas-Greeting when i ssh to my system…
The christmastree on top of the forum dissapeared, so i think this should be the same for dietpi-banner.
