Extra details

  • I can’t install unrar from dietpi-software, it’s not in packege list. I think it was removed from them at last few days, but unrar-free is able to install manualy too.

Can you fix it in the next dietpi-release ?
NOTE: I’m using Dietpi 8.25.1 in a Proxmox-VM on a Raspberry Pi 4

Well it should be there. Can you check following

dietpi-software list | grep 170

Thanks for the help, I got it fixed.

Upgrading from Debian 11 to Debian 12 with “sudo sed -i ‘s/bullseye/bookworm/g’ /etc/apt/sources.list” wasn’t entirely clean.

I reinstalled the VM from Debian 12.4.0-netinst-arm64.iso on my Raspberry Pi 4 Proxmox 8 system, and then started the “./dietpi-installer” and set up the VM as a “generic device”.

I now use the VM as a template. Everything is working fine again now.

It’s a shame that you can’t download a ready-made default-arm64 VM from the dietpi.com website. That would save a lot of work.

All you would have to do is zip a backup of the VM (3 files approx. 900 MB).

If you are interested, I would provide my default arm64 VM.

The staff is welcome to contact me about this.
