C2 - Samba Clients get no acces to /dietpi share

Hello All,

I am a absolute beginner with ODROID and Linux in details.
I installed this great software to my ODROID ans im very impressed, that everything works really good. (KODI, INTERNET…)
The only thing that I am wondering is why I get no acces to my shared samba files:

root@DietPi:/mnt# ls -al
insgesamt 68
drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 4096 Dez 15 00:21 .
drwxr-xr-x 20 root root 4096 Dez 15 00:09 …
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Dez 15 00:21 dietpi_userdata → /mnt/usb_1
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 9 18:06 ftp_client
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 9 18:01 nfs_client
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 15 10:24 samba
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 32768 Dez 15 15:06 usb_1
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 15 00:09 usb_2
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 15 00:09 usb_3
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 15 00:09 usb_4
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dez 15 00:09 usb_5
:frowning:

The etc/samba/smb.conf looks like this:

[global]

workgroup = WORKGROUP
server string = %h server
dns proxy = no
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 1000
syslog only = no
syslog = 0

panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d

security = user
encrypt passwords = true
passdb backend = tdbsam
obey pam restrictions = yes
unix password sync = yes

passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
passwd chat = Enter\snew\s\spassword:* %n\n Retype\snew\s\spassword:* %n\n password\supdated\ssuccessfully .
pam password change = yes
map to guest = bad user

load printers = no

[dietpi]
comment = DietPi Share
path = /mnt/dietpi_userdata
browseable = yes
create mask = 0775
directory mask = 0775
valid users = root
writeable = yes

Hope somebody has a good idea.

Best regards
Berni

No worries, Windows can be a bit “flaky” with Samba, thanks for letting us know :slight_smile:
