When booting from an SDCard (tried different makers, all work) I experience no issues with my RaspberryPI 4 DietPi v10.1.2. However when I boot from an USB stick (tried several Lexar, Microcenter, Verbatim), I am unable to share my drives with other Linux boxes. The irony is that my Samba configuration lets me share any directory with Windows 11 boxes without any issues. I even copied the configuration from my SDcard to the USB stick that I am using to boot but no dice. I reinsatlled the OS and NFS several times, used different USB drives and mounted/unmounted the share but the problem persists. I even changed directories to 777. Any ideas how to fix it ? Is the file structure on USB somehow confusing DietPI ?

Extra details

Booting from usb should not make a difference. It should not matter and does not confuse. Can you share an error message from the other system?

Looks like today’s update fixed the issue. I ran the update yesterday but the problem persisted. Whatever today’s update did , it fixed the problem. Thanks for all help

What update you reffing to?
