Batman mesh?

Is the B.A.T.M.A.N. mesh applicable to DietPi? (It works on rpi 0W, rpi3b+ and rpi4 with Raspbian Lite)

Hi,

many thanks for your request. As far as I can see, installation could be done via apt install. Means it should be possible on DietPi. However, configuration would need to be done on /etc/network/interfaces, which might be conflicting if you use dietpi-config to manage your network adapter. There will be a possibility that dietpi-config will not detect your new settings or being able to apply changes to this file correctly anymore as it depends on a fixed content… Rework is in pipeline to allow a flexible per-interface configuration. But nothing to come on short notice.

What is already possible now, is to apply custom changes via new files in /etc/network/interfaces.d/your_conf to have them independent from any changes to the main files. That might be an option to get Batman mesh configured. But something to be evaluated.
