Hello guys,

I was wondering what the best backup/restore strategy is for dietpi. Right now what i do is:

automated backup: (script)
copy config files & root-folder to usb/dietpi_userdata & nas

restore:
flash sd-card with dietpi
boot
change root-passwd/timezone
run restore script (sets lib-path,apt-get update && upgrade, installs apps and after that copies config-files, sets crontab)

Is there a better, faster, other way?

Have you tried DietPi-Backup?

(resolved) Cannot log in to the MySQL server

Hello, I’m continuing experimenting and just installed LAMP. I had previously changed HostName and Password and when trying to log into phpmyadmin interface I cannot access with root and either of the two passwords: raspberry the default one and the new one I set up. Is there a short way to solve this? I’m starting googling around… Many thanks for any hint you might give me, Virgus

Backup system:

dietpi-backup

You can create a full system backup (default /mnt/dietpi-backup)

Restore (automated, no GUI):

dietpi-backup -1
