Not sure, but is there a way to have the S.M.A.R.T. values of connected hard drives (internal and external) automatically be checked and be notified in case a drive is about to brake down?

AFAIK this does not work for SDcards or eMMC, but USB flash drives (partly) SSDs and HDDs.
