Hi @truemusic1969,
IMHO issue is on the Amanero USB side and not on Sparky / DietPi side.
Amanero FW 2003-BE beta release seems to allow native DSD 256/512 but still some glitches.

What DAC and Amanero USB receiver firmware are you using ?

Hi@ volpone

I read this page carefully and found that there are successful cases of updating firmware under Linux system. I downloaded x86 Linux system NAA on hqplayer official website, updated my DSC1 DSD DAC Amanero firmware to 2003BE, used NUC computer to do NAA. NAA normally recognizes nativedsd. The DSD512 plays very smoothly. Tested for many days did not find any problems.

Now Amanero uses the new firmware, Sparky SBC dietpi, to do NAA, and Amanero can normally recognize and support DoP DSD256 playback.Play without any problems.
My friend uses dietpi on sparky SBC to do NAA connection OPPO DAC supports native DSD. Playing DSD512 is also very good. Only the OPPO DAC is the xmos interface. So sparky SBC supports native DSD capabilities without problems. I hope Sparky SBC will support Amanero driver to support new firmware as soon as possible. We are also better tested. thanks for the reply.

Hi @truemusic1969,
Very interesting experience if you are successful using new Amanero 2003BE FW on DSC1 DAC to play DSD 512 from NAA installed on your Linux NUC.

My DAC is T+A DAC8 DSD without Amanero FW update, so currently no native DSD on Linux, DoP (DSD128) restricted.
I’m streaming from a Sparky USBridge setup (NAA on DietPi 6.2). No problem with DSD128 (DoP), very stable, no glitches

Some questions:

I’m not sure DietPi currently integrate patched Sparky kernel, did you tried it ? (From my side i’m unable to test because of my Amanero FW not reflashed yet to 2003BE).

  • DSC1 DAC is Jussi Laako’s designed DAC isn’t it ? Where and how do you bought it ? What is your NUC OS ?

  • It is possible there is still some issues with native DSD Amanero FW on T+A DAC8 DSD and not on DSC1 because T+A DAC is PCM and DSD and glitches occurs on muting behavior, or switching PCM / DSD. DSC1 is DSD only so no switch, no gltches ?

I’m still interested in your findings with NAA on SPARKY via Amanero USB.
