add new sudo user

Hello all,
I used before ubuntu on my Odroid C2. I am happy found in dietpi a more slim OS, but I work most time with vim and open to dive deeper in, working with the shell. But adding a new user seams to be quite more advanced as with ubuntu. There are a view thinks I could not figure out by googling.
For example:

  1. I have no permission to start the X-Server by $ startx

  2. sudo does’nt work. Even it is added to sudoer group in
    /etc/group
sudo:x:27:1 (the user has the id 1)

  3. Also my vimwiki does’nt work

So befor I mess around with the /etc/sudoer file, I thought to ask first here in the forum:
What is the different to more userfriedly and probaly preconfiged Distros as ubuntu?
And of course:
How to solve my issues?

Thanks

best wishes

I used this method to add my own user and as sudoer

… thanks WarHawk,

so far I tryed already. There must be something else wrong. But it is a quitel early state of system-set-up, I will install and configurate it, ones again from scratch.

… no problem, just training.
