Hello,
I am using DietPi on my Odroid C2. For the last two weeks I have been trying to boot from the SD card and use the root file system from the SSD, as the SD card is not as stable as an SSD.
I can’t set it up properly. I tried many options in the dietpiEnv.txt
and armbianEnv.txt
(I used Armbian before) and tested many options in the fstab
- nothing worked.
Now I found the reason.
If I set the boot configuration (dietpiEnv.txt) and the fstab
file on the SD card correctly, the SSD is used as root.
BUT:
I need a trick:
When I start the odroid, the boot window appears. It shows many command lines and everything works. THE ERROR starts when it says:
Loading Kernel...
Suddenly the screen goes black for a short time and reappears. Now no more USB devices are found. All devices that were previously recognized are lost. I have to plug in the USB connection again, and then the SSD is recognized again and the boot process is completed.
If I am not fast enough after loading the kernel, it does not work because the connected USB device is not found.
Do you have any idea?
Thank you very much!!!
