A reboot is required when the display driver is switched:

Code: Select all

/boot/dietpi/func/dietpi-set_hardware rpi-opengl vc4-kms-v3d
reboot
# after reboot
startkodi

After reboot I tried to connect via ssh to the local machine. The following code was shown:

Code: Select all

ssh root@192.168.178.40
ssh: connect to host 192.168.178.40 port 22: No route to host
I can not connect anymore.

Also the Pihole and Nginx Server are unreachable. This is not funny.

You have a screen that could be attached to see what happens?

Okay. Server works now.

Code: Select all

startkodi
failed to open zone.tab
error: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set in the environment.
libva info: VA-API version 1.10.0
libva error: vaGetDriverNameByIndex() failed with unknown libva error, driver_name = (null)
Screen shows only blank screen. Seems to be no connection from Kodi.

Did you already tried to set Kodi as autostart option? Do you have any HDMI output while the Pi is booting or is the screen staying black? Usually you should see the command line, even without Kodi. Isn't it?

Okay, I can now see Kodi on the screen.

How can I connect via the kodi remote app to Kodi app? Maybe I need a port number?

I researched a bit. Port 8080 should the right one? But the manually connection and the automatically connection not working.

This is because Kodi changed the default webserver settings to be more secure, and since v19 web server is disabled by default. You simply need to activate the web server settings to permit remote control and to access Kodi.

To do that go to Settings > Services > Control and either confirm that you want to allow external access to the web server without authentication and password (it will warn against this) or enter a password, and then enable allow remote control via HTTP.

Where and how to do? I can not connect to Kodi via App remote.
