plex media server to hdmi output

Post by yahoo456 »

I am running a raspi 4 with dietpie, plex media server, vpn, qbittorrent, nzbget, jackett, sonarr and radarr.

Currently i'm streaming tv shows and movies to my tv wirelessly with chromcast (via plex)

Is there a simple and lightweight method to connect my pi directly via hdmi to my tv and play my shows and movies via plex?

In other words: is it possible to play my movies directly from plex media server to my tv by connecting my pi with hdmi cable to my tv. If so, how?

You would need a player that could play media send by Plex. You could try using Kodi as client or use it directly as media center.
Pls let us know if a solution is working. This could help others if they hit by similar situation. Your DietPi Team

Plex does have it's own webpage to play videos

Also there is a plex app, but not sure it is compiled for ARM

There is an appimage built for the plex client
