Out of curiosity. Would it be possible to activate WiFi and try to use it?
Pls let us know if a solution is working. This could help others if they hit by similar situation. Your DietPi Team

Yes, I will; first sleep a few hours.
Thanks for everything, until then.

@Joulinar:

it gave me no peace; Wi-Fi works! I can now access the system again with ssh:

Code: Select all

Using username "root".

So this is on Bullseye now, right? WiFi works but the Ethernet adapter is not detected at all. Can you share:

Code: Select all

ip l
ip a
ip r
dmesg
Good to have the full kernel log to see whether there was some attempt to load the Ethernet driver, or some failure about it. This is not about the userspace tools btw, but kernel related. Strange only that it works with the very same kernel on a fresh Bullseye image and for most others (only report with broken Ethernet?) with an upgraded image as well.

Re: curl: error while loading shared libraries

Post by omavoss »

Hello,
Is the solution to my problem still being worked on or do I have to set up a new system? My wife has written out all the appointments from the Baikal calendar on paper and I would then have to enter them into the new system, which I would like to avoid if possible.

eth0 is still not available, WiFi (and Baikal) works.

The problem started with the upgrade to Bullseye, eth0 was not available after a reboot. Then dietpie-backup -1, eth0 remained unavailable.

I would have to decide in the next two weeks to delete the broken system and set up a new DietPi system. Then the possibility for further forensic investigations would disappear.

Please write me what to do, thank you very much.

Ah I think I know what's going on: "Predictable" network interface names.

Please try the following:

Code: Select all

grep 'net.ifnames=0' /boot/cmdline.txt || sed -i '/root=/s/$/ net.ifnames=0/' /boot/cmdline.txt
reboot
On new images this is done already but on older it may not be present yet and with Bullseye systemd started to ignore an older solution.
