How to enable SSL on Icecast too?

Post by dany_musica »

Good evening,
I have successfully installed Icecast 2 and I've enabled SSL thanks to Certbot which enables SSL just on the Apache server (ports 80, 443). How can I enable SSL on Icecast too (default port 8000)?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

many thanks for your question. Basically you have 2 options.
  1. Setup Apache as revers proxy for Icecast
  2. Enable https support on Icecast. I found following guide on the web. https://mediarealm.com.au/articles/icec ... s-encrypt/
    1. You would need to start at the point > Installing and running Lets Encrypt Certbot for Icecast
    2. there you can jumpt to the step where you concatenate the two certificate files so they are in the correct format for Icecast
Pls let us know if a solution is working. This could help others if they hit by similar situation. Your DietPi Team
