Regarding the 2 CPUs of NanoPC T4

Post by iono »

I don't have this device, but the NanoPC T4 has 2 CPUs which are Dual-Core Coretex-A72 and Quad-Core Cortex-A53. I never use a computer that has 2 CPUs, so how does an operating system manage the CPUs?

When will a process use the weaker/stronger CPU?

What are the criteria the operating system decide which goes where?

Can a process use both CPU at the same time?

Is it possible to force a process to use only the weaker/stronger CPU?

RockPi4 also has this combination of CPUs.
From dietpi-services menu you can select which service will use which cpu and how many cores.
By default any service can use all available CPUs.
