Intel Quick Sync support & Plex Media Server

Post by TOMillr »

I'm trying to run a Plex Media Server on my Intel Apollo Lake-based system.

I've previously was able to use hardware transcoding via Intel's Quick Sync under Windows 10, Ubuntu and the Debian based OpenMediaVault.

Under DietPi, however, the Plex Media Server refuses to use the hardware transcoding capabilities of the hardware and instead taxes the CPU.

Do I have to manually install anything else to get Quick Sync support in DietPi?

How was the issue resolved?
