Hi,
i am running on an odriod C2 the dietpi image. Really often unter LXDE Screen i can move the mouse and change windows, but in the background for example if i untar a big file it stops and hangs in the terminal. No reaction nothing. After some minutes it goes on. The Tar-command just hangs. Why is this happening. What can i do?
Thanks a lot.

Sounds like possible system instability due to hardware.
Please can you confirm:
- SD/EMMC card used (eg: sandisk ultra)
- PSU used (eg: 5V 1A)
- Size of TAR file
- Size of swapfile: /DietPi/dietpi/func/dietpi-set_dphys-swapfile
If you find our project or support useful, then we’d really appreciate it if you’d consider contributing to the project however you can.

Re: Dietpi starts hanging
Hi i am using an SD Card from Sandisk, a standard PSU (is there an output if the odroid gets enough power?)
Tar is like 80MB and swap is 331MB
Thanks a lot kami

Re: Dietpi starts hanging
Check to ensure that power is above 5vdc
Any time I had flaky RPi usage...it was due to flaky or chincy USB power cables

Hi,
just double checked everything and it was the power cable.
Now everything works fine.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Dietpi starts hanging
Hi,
i just have to reopen this thread. The Problem comes back. The Power supply is now good enough. Odroid C2 with 2,4A Power Supplay and Dietpi 6.7 Image. I have tested the SD Card with h2testw no write/read error.
But for example if i use the TAB key or try to run "top" or "htop" it keeps hanging like it is waiting for anything. I cannot see anything in the logs and the CPU temp is at 48-52 °C. I hope this is normal. CPU usage is not full but the command just hangs.
Can someone help how to find out where the error is?
Thanks a lot.
