This original post is a couple of years old but instead of starting a new request I thought replying here might be tidier?
I installed the Resilio .deb package easily from the resilio.com website, using the instructions there. After giving permissions to the sync folder everything worked great!
So it's pretty easy to install, but adding to the dietpi-software utility would be super convenient. It's not open source, but it's still useful software. Not sure what the dietpi inclusion criteria are.

Main criteria is time. There are more request than time to implement all.Not sure what the dietpi inclusion criteria are.
