ebook server: Ubooquity or COPS

Post by loro102 »

Ubooquity supports many types of files, with a preference for ePUB, CBZ, CBR and PDF files.
Metadata from library management software Calibre and ComicRack are also supported.
This softwrre can be installed on any OS supporting Java (Windows, Linux, Mac OS...) and on a wide range of hardware (desktop computer, server, NAS...).

My vote also for It. I will post a Tutorial to install It, but I would like to have It as option.

We all need a library - Ubooquity

Post by johnvick »

COPS is worth a look and has the killer feature of being able to email ebooks straight to your Kindle from the web interface.

Needs to be installed manually but not hard.

From what I understand of DietPi's ethos, wouldn't the open-source COPS be a better fit than the closed-source Ubooquity?

Also, Calibre's 3+ million active users might find COPS an easier and more sympathetic server for their existing Calibre libraries: very little to learn, and little chance of metadata conflicts and the like.
