I discovered duckdns looking for a way to weasel out of having to purchase a domain name or renew domain every 30 days via NoIP.
Duckdns is a completely free public DNS server that anyone can get a subdomain and use one of our provided scripts to update their record(s).
so instead of trying to remember an IP address, you can use a domain name that is kept up-to-date.
I appreciated duckdns simple crystal clear yet extremely extensible install instructions. It works for virtually any system or set up.
I integrated the update script into my router which utilizes DD-WRT. Works with HTTP and HTTPs. Definitely an easy choice if you don't mind '.duckdns.org' at the end of your URL.
Check it out and let me know what you guys think!
