Wireless Client Mode Access Point

Post by trigrhappy »

So I'm quarantined in a hotel for at least the next 3 weeks in germany with atrocious wifi.

Essentially, I am trying to use my dietpi raspberry pi 4 as a wireless client, to both run all of my dietpi services (namely, Emby) as well as provide internet access to a device connected to its ethernet port (an nvidia shield). The shield will need to be able to access the internet, as well as the network services provided by my dietpi.

Is there any easy way to do this with dietpi? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

many thanks for your request. By default, DietPi is not able to provide the functionality you are looking for at the moment. This would need to be configured manually. I found some how-to on the web, fitting your need to share a hotel WiFi via Ethernet

https://www.diyhobi.com/share-raspberry ... -ethernet/

Some parts might not be obsolete, like installation of OpenSSH
Pls let us know if a solution is working. This could help others if they hit by similar situation. Your DietPi Team
