Dietpi 6.25 mympd missing features

Post by prupert » Wed Jul 31, 2019 2:33 pm

Hi

Long time DietPi user on odroidhc2 and odroidhc1 - excellent software, many thanks.

I just tried installing mympd via dietpi-software on my odroidhc2 and whilst it installs fine, it appears to be missing any library and search features involving tags. I can only browse my music via the filesystem. Looking at the logs, this appears to be the use of tags being set to "none" and advanced search being disabled due to the version of mpd available being too old. Here is the logs extract:

Code: Select all

Jul 31 14:28:14 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO     Starting myMPD 5.5.2
Jul 31 14:28:14 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO     Libmpdclient 2.9.0
snip
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO     MPD Connecting to socket /var/run/mpd/socket
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO     MPD connected
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO     MPD protocoll version: 0.20.22
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: WARN     Disabling featLibrary support
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: WARN     Disabling coverimage support
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: ERROR MPD error mpd_send_list_tag_types: Command only permitted to local clients
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO MPD supported tags: none
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: INFO     Tags are disabled
Jul 31 14:28:17 odroidhc2 mympd[24696]: WARN     Disabling advanced search, depends on mpd >= 0.21.0 and libmpdclient >= 2.17.0.
So, both mpd and libmpdclient versions mean advanced search wont work - shame. But the "MPD error mpd_send_list_tag_types: Command only permitted to local clients" is I guess what is stopping me from even being able to browse via tags.

Is this something unique to my set up? To use a more recent version of mpd and libmpdclient, does that rely on an upgrade to Buster and is this something in plan down the line?
