OdroicC2, new install, can't finish

Post by pakikje » Thu Jul 25, 2019 7:31 am

Hello,

My SD got corrupted so i got a new SD , installed dietpi (V6.14) on it. SSH to it. And then the trouble starts. After the mandatory change of root/Unix passwords, dietpi takes me to the main menu (dietpi-software) and when i exit it, it says that the installation has not been completed.

/DietPi/dietpi/.update_stage is set to "1".

What do i do?

Tried this:

[email protected]:~# journalctl -u dietpi-ramdisk

Re: OdroicC2, new install, can't finish

I interupted DietPi (several times) to stop the ramdisk (systemctl stop dietpi-ramdisk) and that helped! Dietpi starts up fine now (no menu-loop) BUT software doesn't get installed right:

example: Homeassistant is installed without a LAMP-stack.

Q1: What is the correct way to finish the dietpi-install on a OdroidC2? (i had to ctrl-c/stop the ramdisk/reboot several times before i was out of the menu-loop)
Q2: is there a download-link to a higher version of DietPi for a OdroidC2? (hoping this will help with the above problem)

?

Solved: The dietpi-software whiptail menu is so small that the last entry is not visible, which need to be selected. Please us the up/down arrow buttons and navigate to the very last menu entry, which is "Install". This will finish first run setup.

@pakikje
Sorry for the late reply. Indeed the menu is too small, since the automated size estimation does not work in the environment where it is called. We fixed this for v6.26, however images need to be redone before this has an effect on firstrun update/installs.
