Can't get USB Audio working (XU4)

I've got a USB sound card that I previously used on a Pi with raspbian just fine.

If I type lsusb on the command line, I see that it is plugged in.

in dietpi-config "Audio Options", I go to sound card and the options are "default HDMI" and "usb-dac USB Audio DAC (any)"

Selecting the USB option spits me back to the previous screen which says "Soundcard: none".

Anyone have any troubleshooting this further? This is on a Odroid XU4

Hi,

Just tried it with my cheapo chinatown DAC, appears fine:

Code: Select all

root@DietPi:~# aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: odroidaudio [odroid-audio], device 0: i2s0-sec dummy-aif1-0 []
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: odroidaudio [odroid-audio], device 1: i2s0-pri dummy-aif2-1 []
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: Device [USB Audio Device], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Might be worth checking for kernel updates, reboot, then try again:

Code: Select all

apt-get dist-upgrade
If problems persist, could be limited to DAC, try to run the command manually:

Code: Select all

/DietPi/dietpi/func/dietpi-set_hardware soundcard usb-dac
