Re: Log file permissions being changed

Jep logrotate writers to the files/rotate old and create new with new user and permissions in case. You can adjust which user and permissions are used within /etc/logrotate.d/<modulr>. I found that as an issue by times as well, e.g. in combination with mysql, apache or redis logs. By default DietPi ...

Re: core temp meter for htop

Ah yes sorry didn't have a closer look. If extra packages are necessary (especially larger ones), then I also vote ageist it for now. I will have a rough look in how hard it would be to implement the way easier method we use with our cpu command. Add new output line to htop and update it together wi...

Re: Oranges...

About "own" distro: The thing is that we do no kernel/firmware development. What we do is use an existing Debian/Raspbian image with implemented bootloader/ kernel/firmware, remove all non essential packages/modules/services/files, optimize settings for low resource usage and put DietPi sy...

Re: V6.2 -- DietPi-Sync Behaving Differently?

Possible would be also to allow users setting verbose mode in sync/backup config. I guess most (at least me) don't need logs and that way we can skip whiptail question every time, which can be also not answered if run by cron job e.g.

I guess the size of transferred data is part of verbose rsync?

Re: Configure Strict Transport Security

So you have a dynamic (~daily chaning) IP address right now? Yes a dyndns + domain provider makes sense then. https://www.noip.com/ is an alternative for this, implemented in DietPi. You need to change some config line in webserver and Nextcloud afterwards, but you can already set it up and try gene...

Re: Oranges...

Yeah, following the discussion on github about it, you will see that it was a necessary step to drop ARMbian based images/devices from our lineup. I am deeply disappointed by this fact, as the reason is a totally unnecessary conflict, at least from our side. But the situation was going along with co...

Re: lighttpd won't restart after failed letsencrypt

Hi Tassman, thanks for your report! Seems to /etc/letsencrypt/live/xxxxxxxx.fr/combined.pem was not created or is not readable by Lighttpd. We made some rework during the last months or dietpi-letsencrypt, but I had not yet a closer too onto our Lighttpd implementation. I see I should have, as at fo...

Re: Configure Strict Transport Security

Jep typing the following into your terminal is the right way: dietpi-software reinstall 114 Reinstalling via dietpi-software gui is not possible, that's true. The command above is more a developer tool so far, to allow us applying configuration changes to already installed software. We did not (yet)...

Re: V6.2 -- DietPi-Sync Behaving Differently?

Hi midnightwatcher, jep we switched the rsync command into our error handled G_RUN_CMD . This means that there is no output on screen, just in case of an error you will see an error message, showing necessary information and the last lines of the commands output, that high likely are related to the ...
