It doesn't look like the same problem.
You do have the package cifs-utils (or -util, I don't remember exactly the name) installed, don't you?

I also would like to see more dynamic DNS services included in DietPi.
For example DuckDNS is free, it does not ask for monthly confirmation, and it provides a script for *Pi's to autoupdate their IP address, it should not be too difficult to add it to DietPi.

AFAIK this is not a terminal specific setting, but it is set in the kernel.
