Re: Support for the EsspressoBin

As there are some more cases, I tried and successfully installed DietPi on an Ubuntu image on VM: https://github.com/Fourdee/DietPi/issues/1557
It currently needs some hand work, and of course a VM is usually simpler than real hardware, but it is worth trying, if just Ubuntu images are available.

Re: Odroid C2 | handle Kodi, VNC, Medusa, qBitorrent, Samba

Sadly there is no real ARM emulation . I found qemu for Windows but totally failed to emulate a RPi2 there, was a huge time waste. You can check out the DietPi VMware or VirtualBox image, but of course it behaves different than the Odroid. I would recommend to do a full sd card image backup to your ...

Re: Support for the EsspressoBin

ARMbian is not an option for our images any more: https://github.com/Fourdee/DietPi/issue ... -298337026

Thus we need to find another way.

Re: Configure Strict Transport Security

Hey there, okay first you need to add the new domain to your certificate. You could also just create a new certificate for the new domain only, but to be more flexible, I guess keeping the old domain inside is the better solution for now: certbot --expand -d old.domain.com,new.domain.com //Replace o...

Re: Where is PiHole, no longer in Software Selection (v6.2)

Jep PiHoles newest release does not support Debian Jessie anymore, but our Odroid images are still on Jessie, as some other software (e.g. Kodi) does not work on Stretch there. As far as I remember there are solutions, but will need some rework of our implementation. €: Ah jep linked github discussi...

Re: Log file permissions being changed

Jep logrotate writers to the files/rotate old and create new with new user and permissions in case. You can adjust which user and permissions are used within /etc/logrotate.d/<modulr>. I found that as an issue by times as well, e.g. in combination with mysql, apache or redis logs. By default DietPi ...

Re: core temp meter for htop

Ah yes sorry didn't have a closer look. If extra packages are necessary (especially larger ones), then I also vote ageist it for now. I will have a rough look in how hard it would be to implement the way easier method we use with our cpu command. Add new output line to htop and update it together wi...

Re: Oranges...

About "own" distro: The thing is that we do no kernel/firmware development. What we do is use an existing Debian/Raspbian image with implemented bootloader/ kernel/firmware, remove all non essential packages/modules/services/files, optimize settings for low resource usage and put DietPi sy...

Re: V6.2 -- DietPi-Sync Behaving Differently?

Possible would be also to allow users setting verbose mode in sync/backup config. I guess most (at least me) don't need logs and that way we can skip whiptail question every time, which can be also not answered if run by cron job e.g.

I guess the size of transferred data is part of verbose rsync?
