Re: How to install omxiv

First of all, thank you for support. Most people just ignore me whenever I ask related questions, making me feel like an idiot. )= Not sure, it needs ALSA and dbus access, besides the above mentioned, /run Why not simply try and error? Omxplayer has a very bloody long dependencies list, it gets me d...

I am trying to implement chroot according to Tecmint guide... how do I determine what do I need for omxplayer to work, apart from its shared libraries?

Re: 802.11ac Realtek RTL8811 & RTL8812 woes

@MichaIng I tried installing the driver without running rpi-update before updating the kernel, the result was the same. I was suggested to try different driver, will comment once I'm done.

802.11ac Realtek RTL8811 & RTL8812 woes

Hi, I have 802.11ac 1x1 RTL8811 & 2x2 RTL8812 USB dongles, trying to make either of them work with my RPi Zero running DietPi - without any success. I use powered USB hub and beefy PSU so power is definitely not a problem. Dongles work fine under Windows and connect to my 5GHz SSID. With RPi, RT...

Re: Best VPN for Dietpi?

I personally use vpn.ac for almost 3 years. It is more expensive - $90 for 2 years is the best they offer now (while I pay less, as long-time user), and my experience with them over the years has been stellar. Re: How to install omxiv

WarHawk thank you for the links, but sadly I lack the understanding how to apply them to my situation. I have built and installed omxiv, and installed omxplayer as root. It works fine. Now I will create a new user - and what do I need to do? Build&install omxiv, install omxplayer as that user, ...

Re: How to install omxiv

@helio58 yes there is. You need to install omxplayer (apt-get install omxplayer), and copy contents of opt dir from https://github.com/raspberrypi to your opt dir e.g. via SCP, then follow instruction https://thepi.io/how-to-use-your-raspberry-pi-as-a-chromecast-alternative/ I have another problem t...

Would you please share a download link for V159 image?
Sorry for late reply. I can upload 6.0 somewhere if you still need it, just name any fileshare that will accept file this big without registration and is allowed by GFW.

No, it doesn't for quite some time. You can use old images and try to upgrade your way through:

After latest DietPi update Nextcloud on RPI Zero terribly slow

Web interface has become very slow, just syncing has also become worse. Should I retire RPI Zero in favor of something faster, try some alternative e.g. pydio - or reinstalling DietPi from scratch might help?
