Yes, upon connecting the HD with bullseye, mount the drive normally as you would for a first time, indicating the mounting point.

It makes sense, but first you need to make sure you can login with ssh keys before disabling password login globally to avoid getting locked out.

Most likely you still have `-g` option which doesn't allow the root to login with password. Either remove that option or login first as dietpi.

Under nano ~/.ssh/authorized_keys I entered my pub key. Can I use these keys also with Dropbear or only with OpenSSH? That's right. It will work with both. Just to point out that there is a typo in the address space you are using.
192.168 is private space. 192.162 is public and used by someone else.

I cannot imagine that this problem is caused by DietPi, as the official packages are used in this case. Have you tried another SD card with debian to verify that it works indeed?

Are the settings that you used correct? Could you provide them here to double check?
Regarding the speed degradation, are you certain that the IP is not used by any other device?

Accepting input only from the local subnet is enough.
