Re: Why 2 users in dietpi?

Thanks for the response. Is there any recommendation, on which user to choose for Automatic login, to one of the desktop(LXDE) I've installed?

Why 2 users in dietpi?

Hi, as we know there are 2 login users available in dietpi - root and dietpi. What is the reason for that? Also, is any one of them recommended over the other for desktop login and/or CLI login?

[MATE] Sound Volume taskbar icon

I am using MATE as desktop on Dietpi v6.32 and couldn't find a volume icon on the taskbar.

Is there a way to get that to show up in taskbar and easily control volume from there, instead of controlling through JustBoom?

Re: 50% packet drop rate

I happened to have a similar experience in a fresh install of DietPi v6.31. Interconnection was sporadic even when the pi4 2GB was next to the router. Youtube for example would never have trouble as it was able to fill the buffers periodically, but downloads, which need constant connection(with a do...

Is there a way I can pull logs on how logs are rotated? Can you share the script which is runs hourly to move ...

Logs not being persisted hourly with DietPi-Ramlog #2

Hello all, I have setup logging system to: "DietPi-Ramlog #2 : Hourly save, then clear." and this option has kept the logs in RAMdisk for an hour and then appended logs hourly to /root/logfile_storage in the past. But today I witnessed that the hourly appending has stopped and that the log...

Re: Troubles with logging and Cron jobs

Thank you again, Joulinar. I am hoping to keep using #2 to save sd card wear but also to persist to storage, hourly. Also to confirm, after installing rysylog, everything was working as expected.

Re: Troubles with logging and Cron jobs

Yes, I was about to write that maybe rsyslog was preinstalled along with some other package.
Thanks for all the help. Really appreciate it.

Re: Troubles with logging and Cron jobs

I was just playing with the settings again, and I saw the following message when switching between "Log System"s: │ DietPi-Ramlog #2 has been selected: │ │ - Your choice will be applied when 'Install Go >> Start installation' is selected. │ │ - Logrotate, Rsyslog installations will be auto...
