FIXED: Nord VPN won't connect

I recently moved to Pi_AMD64 - the PC version I don't know the exact name but NordVPN suddenly decided it could not connect. The error turns out to be something like this: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun no such file or directory Now this is way over my head (I'm sticking to particle physics an...

Re: [?BUG?] Certbot and NordVPN won't play together

I really have to set my email so it doesn't send alerts to SPAM MichaIng I must seem awfully rude not coming back when you reply. Time isn't something I'm blessed with so I rely on the ***ing alerts (not your fault) to know when it's time to pop in. Anyhoooo… That's a great option - firewalls are so...

More NordVPN woes (PiHole)

As before I should point out that this is a bit of an edge issue - I don't want anyone thinking they shouldn't use DietPi's Nord service - we all should... this issue is more one of "gotcha" rather than a bug. OK, so this particular gotcha is to do with installing PiHole when the NordVPN tunnel is o...

[?BUG?] Certbot and NordVPN won't play together

Another one of those that keeps the likes of me with my limited knowledge of routing, etc. out in the paddock. Been trying to get my server to run everything and no matter what I do, poor old NordVPN seems to break stuff coming in from the outside world. SSH, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS you name it... well, I...

REQUEST: FRP (Fast Reverse Proxy)

https://github.com/fatedier/frp This looks like an interesting project since it allows NAT penetration without all that tedious fiddling about with your parent's router... (cough, splutter). From their site: "frp is a fast reverse proxy to help you expose a local server behind a NAT or firewall to t...

REQUEST: Ghost (NodeJs blog)

https://ghost.org/ I've been trying this out in Docker and it's actually pretty nifty. Wordpress is a bit (OK, a LOT) heavy for SBCs but NodeJs runs compiled JavaScript so it's a lot quicker. There are a couple of these that are mature enough to run now and while they are nowhere near the scale of W...

VPN breaks Docker

Who would have thunk it? (Not me, that's for certain.) Anyhoo if you're running a VPN on your SBC and add Docker to experiment with some other stuff (safe in the knowledge that you're less likely to smeg up DietPi!) Docker doesn't start. This has something to do with the bridge networking and I won'...

Re: REQUEST: Mail Server

You're right about SBCs, but some come with 2Gb and, naturally, DP does work on x86 PCs now too.

Triggered

[[Rant Mode]] I think I triggered the chaps from Distrowatch a little (@DietPi_) knows what I mean. They point out that DietPi appears to be dead (even though we all know it's far from it) and this appears to be a function of Daniel's (in my view, excellent) front page design. Here's what they had t...
