Re: Rock64: MAC Address is NOT Unique!

I elected for the udev option: dietpi@DietPi:~$ ll /etc/udev/rules.d/ total 16 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 85 Jan 24 07:03 10-wifi-disable-powermanagement.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 45 Jan 3 12:39 50-mali.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 96 Jan 3 12:39 50-rk3399-vpu.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3449 Nov 19...

Re: Rock64: MAC Address is NOT Unique!

Hmm, the armbianEnv.txt solution should actually work, the boot.cmd/boot.src configs that load these settings are unchanged. Could you try eth1addr=<yourMac> /etc/systemd/network/ should only work together with systemd-networkd but we use ifupdown for network interface setup. I think that I see the...

Re: Shutdown script please for rpi3b

I reestablished connection by unplugging and plugging in; both player and lms came online with the last stream ready. Any chance of getting power on from the terminal? It is also possible to boot the RPi 3B by briefly shorting GPIO pins 7 & 8. e.g., I awaken my sleeping RPi by closing the gap b...

Joulinar wrote: Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:45 pm DietPi themselves did not offer something like this on the DietPi gui. DietPi is not an own OS, it's a set of scripts on top of a base image. I guess solution would need to be provided on this layer.
Are you politely suggesting that I should go ask the Armbian community?

;)

Re: Linux Volume Manager [LVM] on DietPi?

I only ask because I noticed that LVM doesn't seem to be an option that's available in dietpi-software or dietpi-drive_manager. But it is available via APT . FWIW: Installation was a breeze... dietpi@DietPi:~$ sudo apt install thin-provisioning-tools lvm2 Reading package lists... Done Building depe...

Linux Volume Manager [LVM] on DietPi?

I'd like to use my Rock64 as a file repository by attaching an external SSD to the USB3 interface. And, for a couple of different reasons , I would like to allocate space on the external SSD using the Linux Volume Manager [LVM]. Is LVM supported by DietPi? What are the recommendations for using LVM ...

Rock64: MAC Address is NOT Unique!

I have two Rock64 boards: One is Version 2 (4GB). One is Version 3 (4GB). I've installed DietPi 6.34.3 on both boards. But I'm not able to connect both to the same L2 broadcast domain at the same time because each board has the same MAC address (86:e0:c0:ea:fa:a9)! I've inquired about this over on t...

Re: SUID? NOSUID?

Thanks for the suggestions, Everyone! Unfortunately: BackupPC requires that the CGI script BackupPC_Admin be executed as the BackupPC user (i.e., SUID backuppc). I'll continue to work the problem in my spare time. And I'll share my runbook - i.e., Instructions for for installing BackupPC from source...

Re: SUID? NOSUID?

best to my knowledge setuid or setgid are not meant to execute the script as the user who owns it, it'S more to have the file automatically execute with the privileges of the file's owner. It's more to invoke file owner permission instead of executing it as the owner. Right - I see your point! i.e....

SUID? NOSUID?

I'm installing BackupPC from source onto DietPi v6.34.3 and I've run into a problem: BackupPC requires that the CGI script BackupPC_Admin be executed as the BackupPC user (i.e., backuppc). However the main partition (mmcblk1p1) doesn't seem to allow SUID executables! I came to this conclusion using ...
