Re: Support for Intel Atom 525

If you mean the temperature shown in the DietPi-Banner, this has no influence on power management or anything like that, it just read the temperature from a known list of sysfs files, and since every board has the CPU temperature on a different file, there are some cases where the wrong is picket. T...

Re: Random diet-Pi crashes -> reboot -> not coming back

To mute those random generator daemon logs, migrate to the new one: apt install rng-tools5 To rule out Cron jobs completely: systemctl stop cron This will also disable hourly /var/log RAMlog clearing, to keep in mind in case something is logging heavily there and is able to fill it up to its 50 MiB ...

Re: Reboot After Install Inconsistent Behavior

Great that the script works. Why don't you install the additional software on first boot by adding related AUTO_SETUP_INSTALL_SOFTWARE_ID= entries to dietpi.txt ? Much cleaner and less overhead :). Otherwise you could do a while pgrep dietpi-software > /dev/null; do sleep 1; done to wait until the o...

Re: Open Beta v7.3 | Please help testing and hardening the upcoming release

For frp I'll also add a simple example setup guide, to access via external port to an internal server listening on a different port. I'll see if I can include HTTPS/443 for the external server component. dietpi-letsencrypt currently only supports regular HTTP validation (with webserver modules, webr...

Re: Home assistant fatal error

Great. Yeah something to keep in mind: When any non-root user wants to access a file, it requires at least execute permissions for every directory and sub directory down to that file. So to access /a/b/c/d/file , execute permissions are required for / , /a , /a/b , /a/b/c and /a/b/c/d . So if a dire...

Re: record radio streams

I'm pretty sure that one of the multiple media streaming servers are capable of it... quick look, Ampache can do it: https://github.com/ampache/ampache/wiki Kodi pretty sure as well, but for a headless device and audio-only an overkill. Similar with Jellyfin, although it does not come with the X ser...

Re: Summer too hot? DietPi does not boot anymore

Yes, probably it's possible. To check the locations of the superblock backups: mkfs.ext4 -n -m "$(tune2fs -l /dev/sdb2 | mawk '/^Reserved block count:/{print $4}')" /dev/sdb2 This command does not create the filesystem, but is a dry-run ( -n ) and assures that the reserved blocks count is ...

Re: Reboot After Install Inconsistent Behavior

For the script-internal environment hostname <hostname> can be used to set it immediately, but I'm not sure how thoroughly the effect is on the parent shell. But worth to give it a try to skip the additional reboot. If you need a reboot, to not repeat all the other firstrun setup steps, I'd go with ...
