Re: DietPI migration from 32GB to 128GB SD card

Hi, i did manage to clone the cards with disk-to-disk Clonezilla live CD. Although I did not have another SD card slot I've cloned it from 32GB microSD (using build in laptop slot) onto 120GB external hard drive (USB), then from there onto 128GB microSD card. Then using Ubuntu liveCD and gparted, e...

Re: DietPI migration from 32GB to 128GB SD card

Easiest (not fastest) is to attach both SD cards to another Linux system and use dd : dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=/dev/mmcblk1 bs=1M status=progress Replace the SD card device numbers with the actual ones, of course, "0" being the 32 MiB SD card and "1" the 128 MiB one. The same can b...

Re: How can I extract a multi-part .rar from the terminal/SSH ?

I believe 7zip has an arm port, and I know if you tell it to unrar the .rar file it will automatically use the .rxx numbers after to fully extract the files It is called p7zip-full just do a sudo apt install p7zip-full Once installed go into the directory where your compressed files are then p7zip -...

Re: DietPI migration from 32GB to 128GB SD card

I wonder if you had two of those sd card adapters if you could boot into clonezilla and use it to ghost from the 32GB to 128GB so it would copy over the boot info and once copied over boot into another livecd distro with a gui interface and use gparted to expand the partition to fill the new drive T...

Re: DietPi on a 2012 Mac Mini

Best way to do a backup/image is to boot a livecd linux that will boot on the machine...then run the command to image the drive Clonezilla should be able to create an image of the drive and it does have a livecd version http://johnsonyip.com/wordpress/2010/01/13/cloning-and-restoring-your-hard-drive...

Re: Can't work with btrfs roofs on SdCard.

simply converting "the boot media" over the btrfs formatting won't work... it needs to create a /boot/initrd.img for the kernel with brtrs support built in, in order to boot, otherwise the original doesn't know how to use BTRFS to boot initially https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questi...

Re: How to disable auto spin UP?

Do you have the default ramlog #1 profile setup (if you didn't change it, it should be set that way) check in dietpi-software under Log System), and/or do you have a swap file on your external HD? You could install iotop and see what is writing to your drive at random intervals Then run iotop -o -b ...

Re: RPi3 not coming back after random reboot

Did you check the cable? Sometimes not only the powersupply but those thin anemic cables can't handle the current flow...5.25vdc at the charger plug on the USB, but 4.8 (or lower) at the connector to plug into the RPi. It may be enough to boot it up..but if/when heavy CPU usage occurs the power dips...
