Does dietpi support snap? Because if it does this might be the best way to install https://opensource.com/article/20/3/raspberry-pi-rocketchat Mainly because if it does...it allows for a HUGE number of applications and whatnot to be side loaded with a very simple command https://snapcraft.io/search...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Boot from SSD

What would be sweet is to have a VERY tiny /boot SD card .img (say around 100-500mb) Then inside the /boot it points to the rest of the OS, so it will boot the kernel, then attach to the rest of the OS on the MUCH faster SSD This way smaller cheaper even slower SD cards can be used to boot the devic...

Re: NTFS write speed

What NTFS driver is being used?

Have you tried the ntfs-3g one?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g
I wonder what the bottleneck could be..have you looked at CPU frequency or usage when trying to write to the drive..if the scaling drops it also drops the speed of IO to the device

Re: Using RAID 1 for system and data - media server?

I wonder if a NAS software solution wouldn't be more apt OpenMediaVault has a ARM port... Not sure how to build a RAID1 on Dietpi however (one of the dev's might know alot more on that) You could also look into doing rsync...use one drive as the standard user data drive, then rsync that drive to the...

Re: Can't create swapfile

Only problem is with a swapfile is it will increase read/writes to the SD Card immensly

Hopefully they will have the ZRAM and ZSWAP option implemented very soon
