RTL8811AU Driver Not Installing

Your hotspot clients can reach the website but don’t have internet connection still?

Using the onboard wifi everything works perfect.

When I use the USB adapter i can connect, but I get a no internet message.

In both of your outputs of ip a, some posts ago, your USB adapter has no IP address.
Also on the screenshot fromn your phone you are not connected to any wifi? At least their is no symbol in the status bar.

When USB adapter is wlan1 it has no ip since I know it works to link to the network there was no reason to assign it an IP.

There was a wifi symble but must have dropped to connect to another source during the screen shot process.

I also had to disable my mobile data as it was trying to roll to that.

All I know at this point is the USB does NOT work the same as the onboard for some strange reason. The only difference in an on/off toggle on the onboard wifi.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll try a fresh install and see if I get the same results.

Does the hotspot clients get an IP address from the hotspot network? And are you able to connect from a hotspot client to the DietPi system using 192.168.42.1.

I apologize for taking up so much of others time.

I decided today to really get into more thorough testing and I found the issue. My OnePlus 11 for some reason does NOT like that USB connection for getting on the internet.

I have tested several other phones, tablets and laptop today and everything routes as it should… Now I need to figure out what the issue is with it routing to the internet through that WIFI connection… it works with everything else I have ever used it with.
I’ve reset all the network settings on the phone but it is still not routing for some reason.

Again, I’m sorry for not checking everything to find the problem.

On a plus I have the drivers loaded and working, negative my normal phone can’t use it (for now).

Thanks for all those that helped… I do appreciate the assistance.

UPDATE / EDIT - changed the hotspot to 2.4Ghz and everything is happy. Seems there is a known issue on some networks with OP 11 phones and 5Ghz.
