I now did re-generate the image for the ROCK Pi S based on the Debian image referenced on the Radxa page (Buster). I converted it to Bullseye and then to DietPi. This does not have Armbian apt servers.
@multiblitz: If you have a share where I can upload it that you can test it, just send me a PN.
It would be nice to know whether this image works better for you.

You guys just rock…fabulous…just tested it and did all my governor setting, apps installed, MPD/lighttpd is already running… Everything is working now like a charme…
