Odroid-C2: USB-Sound

Hey there,

I would like to use an USB-Soundcard with the O-C2. But there is no sound configuration in the dietpi-config as for Raspberry.

How do I have to set the USB-Card that the card is the default one and not the HDMI-Output?

Thx for any help!

Greets, mike175de

Hi Mike,

Verify the device is being picked up. On my system, the usb audio device is card 1:

root@DietPi:~# aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: ODROIDHDMI [ODROID-HDMI], device 0: I2S.27 dit-hifi-0 []
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: Device [USB Audio Device], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

If you get a “command not found”, run apt-get install alsa-utils -y

Create a asound.conf for the USB audio device, that makes it the default for your system:

cat << _EOF_ > /etc/asound.conf
pcm.!default {
   type hw
   card 1

ctl.!default {
   type hw
   card 1

Speaker test:

speaker-test -r 44100 -c 2
#press ctrl+c to cancel

Change volume:

Thx a lot, Fourdee!

Worked like a charme.
